Why Join OSIA?Leading the way for all other Italian-American organizations. the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA was founded in New York City on June 22, 1905. by Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro and five other Italian immigrants. It is the largest and most demographically diverse membership organization representing Italian-American men and women throughout the United States. Since OSIA’s beginning, men and women have shared equal status within OSIA, as do individuals of all professions and aces. OSIA. through its 750 lodges, and its two subsidiary entities. the Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF) and the Commission for Social Justice (CSJ). work to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Americans of Italian descent. Through OSIA’s philanthropic and social undertakings. we represent the interests of Italian-Americans young and old, as well as professionals in all fields of endeavor. In cooperation with the United States and Italian governments. OSIA seeks to strengthen trade, business, political, and educational opportunities. OSIA has contributed to strengthening and preserving the Italian-American culture and heritage for more than 90 years. Now. you too can he a part of OSIA by becoming a member of OSIA. We hope you will join us as we work for a better tomorrow just as our ancestors came w this country looking for a better life for us. 100 Years of OSIA History Timeline (as PDF file - 112K) Why Join the Renaissance Lodge?The Renaissance Lodge of the Order of Italians in America, OSIA, was chartered on November 4, 1972. The lodge, headquartered in Santa Ana, CA has a membership of more than 200 and is considered the cultural hub for Americans of Italian descent. One of the principle aims is to enroll in its membership all persons of Italian birth or descent, their spouses, children and other family members, regardless of religious faith or political affiliation and to preserve the Italian heritage and keep alive the traditions of our ancestors. The influence of the Order is reflected in its strong family ties and values as well as its contributions to the civic life of our community, including charities and educational activities. The OSIA motto is "Liberty, Equality and Fraternity." General meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
